Public-private partnerships

Public-private partnerships (P3) are increasingly common in North America, as agencies look toward more creative means of funding critical transportation infrastructure. Project owners, sponsors, and contractors are now looking for firms with the proven ability to manage these complex projects.

Mott MacDonald has extensive experience in all facets of P3 projects in North America and worldwide. As a technical advisor, manager, or design leader, we serve a wide variety of clients and owners, including national and local governments, utilities, industries, commercial companies, developers, and lending agencies.

Our advantages include the following:

  • Expertise in solicited and unsolicited procurements, including asset brownfield and bluefield leases and greenfield developments
  • Extensive knowledge of planning, design, and implementation of direct tolling systems, congestion pricing, and available payment mechanisms
  • Experience as owner’s representative, designer for contractors, and technical and traffic and revenue advisor
  • Proven track record advising and facilitating the development of the outline business case, developing output specifications, defining quality assurance measures, managing and/or advising the procurement, design and construction, and operation and maintenance phases

Our goal is to provide a full range of solutions to clients across North America in alternative delivery and procurement methods, so they may build and maintain critical infrastructure and provide the best value for the public.
